250 (400)cm, Blue Butterfly Pea is a perennial semi-woody climber from tropical Asia with large, showy intense blue (more rarely pure white) flowers. Flowers are edible and are used as a natural dye in Asia to color rice dishes and drinks. It is easily cultivated in pots in any rich, well drained substrate in a sunny spot throughout the year. In winter reduce watering and keep plants at a minimum of some 15°C. Alternatively cultivate plants as fast growing annuals. Available are seeds from either blue or white flowering plants. Plants are basically self-pollinating and thus will mostly come true to color. However, as seeds are received from open pollination, few plants raised from our blue seed stock may show white flowers and vica versa. V-IX. 10 seeds per package.
